A question ! Was Turkey`s decision to build a much smaller damn tha the one originally projected as a result of simlar problems as outlined above and am I right that the late King Hussain of Jordan said he would never go to war except for water ? June Ward

Hello June

I would think so because the rivers in the Middle East are much smaller. I have certainly picnicked ath the side of the Jordan and could not belive what a tiny river it is. BUT do any rivers flow south into Lebanon from Turkey?? I would have thought that they would flow north out of the Lebanon highlands?

A few may flow south from Turkey to Syria and Iraq??
